Hi Mac,

Apologies for the late reply. I’m afraid LOG4OM is a Windows only package so it won’t run on a Pi. In theory you could install an x86 emulator, then install Wine and put LOG4OM on top, but you would very quickly run out of resources and the whole operation would be painfully slow!

Sorry,

Mike – G4WNC

Hi Robert,

Just checked the Grid Tracker site and they have a Pi version so I’ll add it free of charge.

Mike

Hi Steven,

Correct. My cards contain the full Raspbian Linux operating system but with the datamodes software pre-installed. All you need is the usual keyboard/mouse/monitor/PSU combo and a USB soundcard. The Signalink works fine as the USB soundcard.
You simply use my card instead of whatever card you currently have in the Pi. I also suggest you make a back-up of my card using the printed instructions that I supply.

New to the pi world. Just got my pi4 2gb up and running. Daunted by trying to download all this digital ham stuff on my own.
Am I right in assuming that if I buy this card, it will have all the normal rasbian buster stuff on it that I already have PLUS the ham stuff?
Do I just swap out my card for this new one? Planning on using signalink if that matters. This is a great service you are doing for non-programmers like me.

Hi Again, Wolfgang,

I’ve just spotted a fix.

When I test the cards here, FLDIGI is installed in English and it automatically creates a couple of preference files to support that. It’s these preference files that cause the problem. The fix is simply to delete the offending files before you attempt to start FLDIGI. These files will be automatically recreated when the program starts, but they will support the selected language.

The offending files are hidden, so here’s how to find them:

1. Open File Manager and go to the View menu and select Show Hidden. This will reveal a number of folders with a full stop as the prefix.
2. Navigate to .fldigi
3. Locate and delete the following files: fldigi.prefs and fldigi_def.xml

You should now be able to start Fldigi.

Fldigi currently only supports: Dutch, French, German, Italian and Polish.

NB: If you change language, you have to manually delete these files.

Let me know how you get on.

I’ll update my current master image to remove those files.
